2007 Highlights

  • Rob Roy’s walk-off home run to beat Bolton on Mother’s Day
  • A 4-1 road victory over defending NDBL champ Creemore to clinch 2nd place in the team’s last regular season game
  • Branden Borho’s first career home run – a grand slam at Mansfield
  • Brett Elliott and Rich Freeman finishing among the league’s Top 5 hitters with Elliott leading the league in hits
  • Wayne Gethons, the NDBL’s oldest player, finishing with a perfect 6-0 record on the mound
  • Todd Ferrier and Rob Pert’s return to the diamond after almost 20 years away
  • A gutsy, come-from-behind win at Aurora with a 10-man, makeshift lineup
  • A season sweep of the NDBL pennant-winners, the Simcoe Cougars
  • A fanstatic summer-long effort by Jeremy Uylenbroek, commuting to games all the way from Hamilton in mid-week
  • Ed Black’s 4-hit game versus a gang of his former students in Angus
  • The team’s continued run of success – playing more winning baseball despite the oldest roster in the league and many critcs predicting a collapse
  • More fantastic fan support as the Leafs once again played to the league’s biggest crowds.
